Privacy notice

APTrainer keeps your practice data in your browser. APTrainer does not send your answers anywhere unless you choose to send feedback.

What is stored, and where

  • Your learning strategy: the answers to the setup questions, your course, session length, and exam date (if you give one).
  • Your practice: which questions you answered and whether you were right, your spacing schedule, free-response scores, flashcard progress, and sessions you finished.
  • Your settings: beta features you turned on, rules you wrote, roadmap votes, and any feedback or question reports you saved.

All of this is stored in your browser's local storage on the device you use. Clearing your browser's site data removes it. You can export a copy at any time from You, and import it on another device.

What leaves your device

  • Fonts and math: the app loads the Inter font from Google Fonts and the KaTeX math library from cdnjs.cloudflare.com. Those services receive your IP address and standard browser information, as they do for any website that uses them.
  • Feedback you choose to send: when you submit feedback, a question report, or a beta sign-up, that item is sent only if a feedback address is connected to the copy of the app you use. Otherwise it stays on your device until you export it.
  • Email you choose to give: the free edition asks for an email address after three questions. The address is kept in your browser. If a sign-up address is connected to that copy of the app, it is sent there; otherwise it stays on your device.
  • No analytics: APTrainer does not use analytics, advertising identifiers, or third-party trackers.

Beta sign-up

If you join the beta, we use your email address to send invitations and beta updates. Tell us to remove you at any time, and we will delete the address from the list.

Free edition email step

To keep practicing after three free questions, the free edition asks for an email address. We use it to send practice tips and offers about APTrainer. Tell us to remove you at any time, and we will delete the address from the list.

Children

APTrainer does not ask for names, birth dates, or school information. The free edition asks for an email address. If you are under 13, please ask a parent or guardian to set up the app with you and to give the address.

Changes

When this notice changes, we will update the date below and describe the change in the changelog in the Beta lab.
